How to tame a fully grown feral cat?

we usually capture stray cats and kittens, but not always we capture feral ones unless they need help, now this one is estimated to be older than one year old and is very aggressive, is it impossible to tame him or it takes longer time? are there any special techniques with mature ferals? any time estimates or experience you had with similar event?
